2020 Coconino County Fair Earns Three Awards
Like many fairs and festivals, the 2020 Coconino County Fair, held over Labor Day Weekend, went virtual in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The goal from the Fair planning staff was to offer as close to the traditional experience as possible, especially for the 4-H Youth Exhibitors. In case you missed it, the 2020 Coconino County Fair included virtual 4-H livestock shows, a 4-H Livestock Auction, Community Competitive Exhibits, a Vendor Marketplace, and Entertainment. All of the videos are still available on the Fair’s Facebook and YouTube Channels.
We are honored to announce that Coconino County Parks & Recreation received 3 awards for the 2020 Coconino County Fair!
The International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) awarded the Coconino County Fair first place for Innovative Ways Technology was Used Within Agriculture (results page) and second place for Competitive Exhibits (results page) as part of our Virtual Fair!
The Western Fairs Association (WFA) looked at the whole 2020 Virtual Coconino County Fair and awarded the event first place AND Judges’ Choice as part of their Achievement Awards Program (results page)!
There are many organizations that exist to promote the fair and event industry, two of which are the International Association of Fairs and Expositions and the Western Fairs Association. Coconino County Parks & Recreation, producers of the Coconino County Fair, is a proud member of both organizations.
This recognition wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful staff, superintendents, partners, exhibitors, sponsors, and the Coconino County community. Thank you for joining us on the adventure!
