 Volunteer

Volunteering can be a fun way to give back to the community and meet new people. Are you interested in volunteering at the Coconino County Fair? There are many volunteer positions available at the Coconino County Fair, including:

  • Building Sitter

  • Volunteer Check-In Booth

  • Information Booth

  • Sustainability Recycling Attendant

  • Merchandise Seller (Prior cash handling experience required)

The most popular volunteer position is a Building Sitter. Building Sitters are responsible for assisting the Building Superintendent in keeping the building clean, answering questions, interacting with fairgoers, and ensuring the exhibits are not tampered with. We have a variety of buildings at the Fair, each displaying a different category of exhibits, so chances are there is one that parallels your personal interests.

Volunteers assist with the Volunteer Check-In Booth, set up at one of the side entrances of the Fair and is used to check in volunteers, hand out thank you bags, and assist in logistics.

A hub of activity, the Information Booth sits just beyond the main entrance inside the fairgrounds and is home to will call carnival tickets, general information, lost and found, and much more.

Recycling attendants work with Coconino County Sustainability to reduce recycle contamination by providing education and monitoring recycling bins.

Merchandise sellers work with the Friends of Coconino County Parks to sell Fair items and raise money for the Friends of Coconino County Parks and their work supporting Coconino County Parks and Recreation.

We ask that volunteers complete a minimum of 4 hours. This can be completed in one 4-hour shift or in two 2-hour shifts. For every four hours, a volunteer is eligible to receive 2 admission tickets, 1 parking pass, and a Volunteer Thank-you Bag. There is a maximum of 6 tickets per person. [Example: If you volunteer for 12 hours, you will receive 6 tickets. If you volunteer for 16 hours, you will still receive 6 tickets.]
